How do you take your coffee?
Not sure if it would be considered a pet peeve, but I can’t drive forward through parking stalls. I can watch someone do it, but for some reason I cringe when I’m in the car actually doing it. Also anything related to bananas.
Best advice you’ve ever been given?
Love hard. Love now.
This past year I’ve experienced significant loss within my family and last month I lost one of my good friends. Its heart wrenching and terrible to go through, but I’ve learned to love harder. It’s so easy to get caught up in routine, to go about your day distracted by everything on the agenda and not take time to pause. Each day is so precious and truly a gift. In my mind, there is nothing greater I could give to someone than love itself.
These little lemon pies from Hail Merry. They are life changing!
Drink of choice?
Cats or dogs?
Dogs. Everyone that knows me, knows I want one real bad.
Favorite accounts you follow?
@jessalynbrooks – I met her at the flea market a few months back and fell in love with her art. I have an original hanging in my living room that I call, the dancing ladies.
@cameron_hammond – He’s a brilliant photographer. Him and his wife are a power couple; traveling and snapping along the way.

La Croix flavor of choice?
La Pamplemousse. Side note, I took 3 years of French and one of the only words I took away from it was La Pamplemousse.
Best date you’ve ever been on.
The best date would have to be the day my best friend asked me to be his girlfriend. We were 17 at the time and just rolled up to one of our favorite beaches in Maui. We ate sushi that got a little sandy…Good nonetheless. 10 years later, we married and the rest is history.
What’s the last thing you googled?
My mom sends me animal videos almost everyday, so I went down a rabbit trail of baby elephants getting rescued out of ditches in Africa. I’m a sucker for cute animals.
What do you do in life?
I work in swim and shoot lots of photos.
Where are you from? Where do you live? Where are you going?
I was born and raised in Maui. My dad was a photographer and motorcycle enthusiast and my mom, a painter and business owner. This gave me a natural inclination to different creative paths. In high school, I taught myself how to sew my own bikinis and make jewelry, which helped pay some bills while in college. 8 years ago, my boyfriend (now husband) and I moved to Costa Mesa. We’ve been living out here ever since and loving it. We do go back to Hawaii every chance we get though. No place like it!
How would you describe your style?
I love being comfortable, which is why I keep it simple. My go to is a pair of worn in denim shorts and a tshirt, but you can probably always find at least one thrifted item completing my outfit. Either that or a bikini. Bikinis are always a good idea.
What’s your favorite midnight snack?
I’ve been really into dried wasabi chickpeas.
Last show you binge watched?
The Handmaids Tale
What is your morning routine?
Most mornings start with me snoozing the alarm 3-4 times. I’m not much of a morning person, but I’m trying. Once I’m out of bed I usually make a hot drink- coffee or lemon, honey and apple cider vinegar.
Describe a perfect day.
Big Beach with a poke bowl and beer in hand
What’s the last thing you made a note of in your phone?
I was flying back from Maui to California last month after my grandmother passed away. I opened the shade and saw the most beautiful sunset that reminded me of her, so I wrote this..
Just me and the watercolor sky
Painted with the most beautiful of pink, orange, violet, and barely blue
Melted together by the warm light laying down for the night
No horizon or earth below
Just me and the watercolor sky
Best place you’ve ever traveled to? Why?
One of my favorite places in the world is Kauai- there’s something so magical about it’s raw untouched beauty. I love traveling to places where you can explore and not have an agenda in mind.
Who inspires you?
My mom and dad. My mom is the strongest woman I know- so selfless, kind, and loving to the core. My dad is definitely the hardest working person know…he rides a Harley, looks tough but has the heart of a teddy bear.
First thing you notice about another person?
Their eyes. I love meeting people and seeing what makes their eyes light up.
