Recipes: Jose Cuervo Palomas

You know when the week has been dragging along and you’re happy to have finally reached Friday, only to open your planner and realize that Friday is actually Thursday? Well, here we are. And to top it all off, it’s cloudy. So, yeah, we need a drink to pretend like Fall isn’t falling too soon and like this Thursday is actually Friday.

Something refreshing, something that will get the job done, something with tequila…and that something is a Paloma. If the word tequila terrifies you, fear not. You probably just have been drinking it wrong. It’s meant to be sipped, not slung down in a shot, or multiple shots—and the Paloma encourages you to do just that. A Paloma is the margarita’s healthier and better tasting cousin. A splash of grapefruit, a (generous) bit of tequila, some club soda, and a squeeze of lime. Done. Healthy. Refreshing. And before you know it Thursday will fade right into Friday and it’s like you got to live two Fridays in a row.

Pull out the nicest glass you have and top with ice (dip the rim in salt first, if you like).

Step 2:
Cut your 2 grapefruit and your lime in half, pull out your shaker and add your juiced grapefruit, and 1/2 lime.

Step 3:
Then add your mint infused simple syrup (however much you would like depending on your sweet tooth) and your tequila. Shake all ingredients together. Garnish with a wedge of lime.
